Georgetown is a lovely backdrop for a DC engagement photographer. There is so much history and romance swirling around the streets, alleyways and pocket gardens. The historic buildings and textured walls give so many awesome spaces to capture some beautiful photographs. I also love the C&O canal trail that runs right through town. Anytime of year this place is pretty but in the late spring time when the sun is bright and the flowers are in bloom, that’s when it’s stunning.
Photographing a romantic and lighthearted session in Georgetown does have a few logistics that need to be worked out before hand. Where to meet, what parts of town are the focus and what time of day is least busy. Georgetown’s Main Street are very busy in the afternoons and evening, however for this session we kept to the canal and many of the quaint side streets. when we did hit up a couple key spots we found great little pockets that were quiet to capture the right shot.
Tie together this gorgeous location and a sweet and fun couple like Eliah & Juan, this session become a DREAM! I met Eliah & Juan fort the first time in person when we shot their engagement session. We had video called previously, but they live on the west coast so we didn’t get to meet face to face until this session. It went exactly as I thought it would. We had so much fun wandering around Georgetown capturing sweet, lighthearted and fun photos. It was a perfect session and a great warmup for their amazing wedding that happened in October (stay tuned for a post on that soon!). This day was the dream of every DC engagement photographer.
