Shenandoah valley lifestyle photographer, what a tile. In all honesty it’s not the title that keeps me going as a photographer. It’s the joy, the laugher and the bliss that I capture when I am with my amazing families.
Today’s blog post is going to not only touch on this fav family of mine and their sweetest new addition. It will also focus on the importance of preserving the joy, especially now.
Enter the B family, seen below. I met them when their oldest was a tiny newborn. I was overjoyed when they welcomed me into their home three years ago. Since then we have done lifestyle session throughout the year, capturing Joanna as she grew and documenting the love and announcing the addition of sweet Emma.
I always look forward to seeing them. It’s never about whole “Shenandoah valley lifestyle photographer” title thing I talked about above. It is truly about seeing them and catching up on life with them. The sessions are always gorgeous and the outfits are perfectly picked. Everyone looks amazing. And I am so happy to provide them with life long memories to hang on the wall.
The true joy is spending time talking with with after the session. Hearing about what they have been up to. Playing with the awesome Joanna, staring at the gorgeous brand new Emma and sharing some laughs!
Which brings me to the second half of this blog. Raise your hand if 2020 came in and just gut punched you! It’s been a heck of a year, with so many challenges. However, I think this year has been pretty great too. When you think about it, it’s not how any of us imagined the start of a new decade, but there are so many moments of joy that still need to be captured and remembered.
We can’t skip to 2021, we shouldn’t want to. There are new babies, wedding announcements, and so any other positive life changing events. My challenge to all of you is to embrace 2020 and highlight the positive moments, no matter how small they are. Call me (or your local friendly photographer) for a fun family session, maybe a new puppy shoot, or even that surprise proposal your thinking about. Don’t wait, we need all the joy we can get!
Okay okay, now go enjoy the photos of this GORGEOUS family <3
