Like I talked about in the last post, engagement sessions can be overwhelming and a little stressful if you don’t know what you are getting into. The engagement session should be fun, stress-free and filled with joy. In this post you will learn all you need to know about how to prepare for a fun and stress-free engagement session. Today’s blog will focus on what to expect during and after the session session. Everything you need to to be a rockstar couple at your session.
The Day of the Session: How to prepare and what to expect.
- First and foremost, make sure you get a goods night sleep the night before. You want to be rested and bright eyed for your photo shoot. And hydrate, it makes your skin glow. Also make sure to eat a good meal before. You don’t wanna show up Hungry, that can turn into HANGRY real quick. This is maybe the easiest tip in the whole process to follow, but is also frequently overlooked.
- Once the shoot begins, be natural, snuggle into each other, hold hands, goof off. The biggest thing to remember here is to not freeze when the camera comes out. In fact for this tip, why don’t you just totally forget the photographer is there. Shut me out. As the photographer I want my couples to be in their natural habitat. You don’t have to be stiff and look right into the camera. Whisper a sweet I love you in her ear. OR tell him a joke that will really make him laugh.
- Have trust in your photographer. I want you to love your photos, I want everyone to love your photos. So if you think what I am asking sounds silly, odd, or a little crazy, just trust me. I promise you are not being lead astray, you are going to LOVE the final product.

After the Session: What to Expect.
- The only tip to prepare you for after the session is to just have patience. It takes a bit of time to process all your photos and the photographer wants to present the very best for you. I can’t say all photographers will send out a sneak peek, but I can tell you for sure, that all my couples will see at least 5 great shots from their session within 3 days! Try hard to sit back and relax, or keep on planning that wedding, I am sure you will have plenty to get done.

One last thing to remember during your engagement. Your engagement photo session is the one tangible thing that you will have to take away from this season in your life. You will spend time planning the wedding and the engagement will truly fly by, so make sure to take this time to schedule and plan your engagement photos, because they are such an important part of your love story.

till next time
